‘The Adventures of Vern’
Who’s that shuffling around in the leaves? It’s Vern! This story is about Vern who is a delightful, curious and quirky Hedgehog. The book follows him on his adventures and the mischief he can get up to in one night! Join Vern on his journey to see who he meets. There is another animal who decides to join you and Vern on his adventures, and this is Wesley the Worm. 
 
Hedgehogs are becoming an increasingly rare site to see in the UK. They are one of the most loved mammals native to the UK. This book follows the night-time adventures that hedgehogs face in a light-hearted way. We aim to help educate children on being able to identify different animals, so at the front of the book you will see the animals so they can learn what a stag beetle looks like or a common frog!
 
Laura has a degree in ecology and wildlife conservation and has been teaching for over 10 years on specialist sessions for primary and secondary schools. She has worked with a variety of animals, which range from mischievous meerkats to curious crocodiles. Laura loves being outdoors and thoroughly enjoys her job as a field ecologist, looking for snakes, lizards and bats! Laura loves British wildlife and her favourite animal is a slow-worm. Her aim is to spread the word of the amazing animals people can find right here in England. Laura’s company (Discover Nature) recently won an award for Environmental Education Company of the Year - South England.
